British Pinoy-At-Heart Concerned At How The Priest Is Using The Church To Spread Their Ill Belief

In his post, he said he is feeling concerned with what is happening in the Philippines right now.

Church vs. State

We all know that the Church shouldn’t be meddling with the State and vice versa.

However, since Duterte sat in the office, the Church had done nothing but use their Biblical influence to sway their flock to destroy the current administration.

The current problem of the Church now is to go against the government’s plan to change our system to Federalism.

In the photo included, the text in the projector says:

“Of 50M voters, 34M did not vote for him. We can say that 34M do not want federalism.”

Questions raised

This statements raised some questions that Malcolm asked in his post.

First, he was confused and wanted someone to shed light on why these issues are even being discussed inside a church. It is unclear if this is a mass homily or just a meeting, but still, why are they using the house of God to spread their beliefs?

Next, he is concerned that this looks like a clear attack on the president’s and the Filipino’s political will, and free will at that.

Last, he is wondering how they know that all the 34M are against federalism, and also, how can they even know that all those 34M did not vote for Duterte?

Yes, they did not vote, but that is not a guarantee that they are not Duterte supporters, right?

I always thought that the role of Christians biblically was to pray for the leaders of the country, help the poor, pray for the sick, promote unity and peace?

Maybe I’m wrong, but this seems to be a campaign against the democratically elected President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte and his political will????

Also, how on earth is the church able to say if the apparent 34 million people who apparently did not vote for President
